Photo @jameskydd One of the great frustrations of existence is not being able to be in two places at once...especially when both places are important. This is amplified as a photographer. While we've been away from the river, the annual human triggered burning in the flood plane has been raging. The locals believe these fires are a good thing, flushing game and regenerating growth. Too much burning however destroys the already fragile soils root infrastructure, damaging an already limited ability to retain precious water. When it comes to burn cycles, nature generally takes care of itself with an uncanny poignancy. Follow @jameskydd and @intotheokavango for more images from the journey. #okavango15
