So let me tell you about these two exceptional men. When I was 12 years old my mother signed me and my lil brother up to join this track team-the Providence Cobras. It's the best thing she could have done for us! We spent 6 years with the team and was able to travel and compete around the country and learn so many lessons about discipline and hard work and team work. But these two guys were our coaches. Kevin Jackson and Thom Spann. I have got to give them props. They have coached this team since 1978. But that's not even the amazing part. The amazing part is that the team is mostly made up of underprivileged kids and these two made certain that no one ever missed the chance to compete and travel and accomplish their dreams. I don't know how they did it but they made it work! From picking up kids in the projects and taking them to nationals to having fundraisers so no one was left behind- I mean I didn't realize their sacrifice back then When I was a child but now that I'm grown- it's mind blowing to know these two sacrificed all their weekends for us. All their Monday's, Wednesday and Friday afternoons to train us and so much more. Again I just wanted to publicly salute these two for all their efforts! #ProvidenceCobtas #bestCoaches
