In my art I like to reuse and recycle materials. I’ll keep things I think are beautiful and find a way to incorporate them. Recently I did a ton of yard work with my brother, we are making a vegetable garden where my daughter can play and learn. We cleared out an unused area in the backyard that was overgrown with giant vines the height of tall trees. Instead of throwing away the vine limbs I noticed they were very flexible and didn’t break easily so I wove them together into a five-foot tall ball that rolls, and is now like a sculpture on the lawn. I like something about the unity of that spherical form, maybe it could translate into an interesting pose.
