In 1924, Henry Ford built the center of design for the Model A. Inspired by fellow inventors and scientists, he carved their names into the outside walls as a reminder to always go further.
Now called Ford Engineering Laboratory, the names are fitting inspiration for the EV powertrain work done there today. In 2014 alone, we filed more than 400 EV patents – and now we’re opening them up to the industry to spur research and innovation.
