Rip #maryellenmark. One day I was walking on Lafayette and practically walked into her... Her distinct braids and Bakelite/Navajo combo bracelets were so distinct... She once lectured at Bard when I was a student and I attended, thus I guess I thought I "knew" her. So when on the street I said "hi, I am so happy to see you again" (thinking I knew her) and she graciously said "me too! I'm Mary Ellen, how do we know each other?" I realized in a split second I only admired her from afar and mistook her lecture and her trademark look as familiar. But she was so cool & didn't make me feel small... Quite the opposite. #classact
