Yesterday was an incredible day for my family. I flew back for the day to film a short documentary about my parents journey from China to Costa Rica to the United States. They got to tell their story in front of the camera for the first time and share their hardships they experience when they first moved here. Only knowing basic English phrases, they somehow figured out how to get by and start several businesses. They had a responsibility to my sisters and I to provide the best opportunities for us to succeed. When asked if they would do it again they said "absolutely." Here's a pic of my handsome dad. He said "he felt like a movie star for the day." They spoke in Cantonese, Spanish and English...good luck to whom ever is translating the docu as they couldn't help themselves jumping around each language.
