Honoured to be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the liberation in the Netherlands today. The Canadian heroes who freed the Dutch people from Nazi oppression understood that when there is great evil, it must be confronted. The bravery, determination and sacrifice of these heroes reminds us of the eternal truth, “freedom isn’t free.” / Je suis honoré de souligner le 70e anniversaire de la libération des Pays-Bas aujourd’hui. Les héros canadiens qui ont libéré le peuple néerlandais de l’oppression nazie comprenaient que lorsqu’un grand mal surgit, il doit être confronté.
