Jst got back from the Sierras and excited to share some of the amazing work my good friend @Inkdwell has been doing. Last summer @inkdwell completed the first Migrating Mural, a series of six murals depicting the endangered Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep, along a 120 mile stretch of California Highway 395. (One of them pictured here.) The Sierra Nevada bighorn is one of three bighorn subspecies and there are only 500 of them left in the world. Their numbers are on the rise and if recovery efforts continue they could begin the delisting process in a decade. Two weeks ago scientists released a herd of 12 Sierra bighorn into Yosemite--the first time the animals have been in the Cathedral Range in a century. This photo, taken by @codytutts in the town of Independence, depicts an 8-year-old ram. Mt. Williamson, the second tallest peak in California, is in the background. Keep an eye out for @inkdwell's work out there!
