so fucking cool to be there to help induct Green Day into the rock and roll hall of fame. i remember the first time i saw them on mtv with the basketcase video- tre rolled up in the wheelchair to the drum set- from that moment i was hooked. and now it feels like this band that was a favorite of mine- is in the fucking rock and roll hall of fame. congrats to the dudes. i cant think of anyone more deserving or more rock and roll. thanks for letting us witness it. i posted this quote from albert camus a few days ago but it seems to ring true about green day's legacy to me: "In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back." it always felt like around every turn when you least expected it green day kicked you in the face in the best possible way. xx
