This week, she was selected for the 2015 @ChrisHondrosFund’s emerging photojournalist award, which honors the photographer Chris Hondros, who was killed in April 2011 while on assignment in Libya. @markosian met Chris when she was 20, and she considered him both a mentor and friend.
