Yesterday was a special day for me. I visited a refugee camp for people from Syria, Afghanistan, Kosovo etc by the "International Bund" in Marienfelde. I met many people who escaped from their home-countries because of war, inhumanity and horrible war crimes. None of them had a chance to survive in their country, so they tried to save their life and the life's of their family members. For sure I know all those stories from media and news but I never really met people who suffered that much. Now I really got an idea of what is happing in those countries. I went there to meet the people as a normal guy and not as a soccer-player. For sure many of them where interested in my story. But what can I tell them about my life? I mean: their lives are outstanding. They are humans who act so brave and who suffered so much! So I was actually more interested in their stories and tried to show them how much I respect them. It was truly heartbreaking and I am still touched by their stories. It was great how innocent the kids still are (even thought they must have seen horrible things) and they are just trying to live the normal life kids usually have. Hopefully I was able to buoy them up a little bit. It is time for all of us to support those brave people as much as we can! They risked their life to come here and to live in peace. So let`s give them a warm welcome! I am really sad when I see stories like in Tröglitz. It is our duty to support them as much as we can and to make them become a part of our society. I was impressed how fast they learn German and how grateful they were to be in Germany. Let's make it happen altogether: Germany needs diversity and we need to make sure people how risked their lives in their home-country because of religion, sexuality etc. are save in our country. Have in mind: we are all the same!✌️✌?✌?✌?✌?✌?
