#tbt just before Dad's stroke, a little over a year ago.
My dad was a crazy, wild, warm, hilarious, overprotective, and unpredictable person. He led a difficult life leading up to the next chapter where I came along, and still managed to be one of the most relaxed and carefree people I knew. His primary job throughout my childhood was as a maintenance man in our building, and so my time before and after school was usually spent with him snacking on toasted tuna sandwiches or a Happy Meal as long as I promised not to tell "the barracuda" (Mom). I remember him waiting outside audition rooms and telling me to "shine 'em", sitting outside in the pouring rain while I had my horseback riding lessons, and telling me an almost embarrassing amount how beautiful and special I was, every day. I got my sense of humour from him, my wild streak, and my ability to love fiercely and freely. He was one of a kind, and I'll miss the hell out of him.
