Chins up, New Yorkers: We're on our way to the warmth of spring. In early April 1957, though, Neal Boenzi, a staff photographer for The Times, photographed a 2.4-inch snowfall — a “slushy coating,” according to the caption that ran with the photo. It continued: “Budding shoots of willow lend the soul springlike touch to this scene in Central Park, as a lone oarsman rows away." We found the photo in our newsroom #archives, which houses millions of images dating back more than a century. #tbt
