Mazzy tends to open up to me on our bus ride to school or right before bedtime. Right now the most serious things she brings up are around friendship dynamics (feeling left out, someone saying something mean, etc.) but I know how I handle these minor issues will help set me up to be the person Mazzy feels comfortable talking to in the future, when tougher topics arise. Today, I'm launching a series with Responsibility.org about having conversations with your kids. We're looking for four families to participate (with kids 5 and up) so we can learn where these conversations are most likely to take place and how to address the important stuff together.
