#TBT From the Guggenheim Archives, a 1834 first-edition volume of prints by Japanese painter and printmaker Katushika #Hokusai from #FrankLloydWright to the Guggenheim's first curator Hilla Rebay. Wright wrote to Hilla in a letter, "It is almost unbelievable that this human engraver—famous in all Japan should have produced work of such exquisite perfection…" To this day, these woodcut print volumes are the most famous works in Hokusai’s career.
