I still think of the Direct North Face on Everest from time time. It came up in conversation the other day and I found this image of it floating around this morning. It's been over 10 years since I tried it with @stephen_koch. I've done a bit more travel since then to quite a few ranges around the world and still consider it the king line of ski and snowboard mountaineering. From the summit of Everest, the line bisects the 9000ft north face, dropping through the Hornbein Coulior and continuing down the arcing Japanese Coulior you can see in the image. There have been a few attempts to ski / snowboard it and not everybody walked away like we did. Some day it will get done.
