Rhamat Alhassan (@ra_montie) who just finished her freshman season at Florida and now participating in the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryout, has had a intense year of volleyball. She was named MVP of the NORCECA Women's Junior Continental Championship, earned AVCA All-American Second Team and was invited to train in Anaheim this past January with a group of college all-stars. Rhamat, a middle blocker still learning the sport after a late start, says her experience with the HP pipeline has been beneficial to her development. "Playing with the Junior National Team definitely helped me my freshman year at Florida. It is a faster game than it is in high school and club. It helped me with my transition into college." Last summer she even surprised herself with the NORCECA MVP. "Yes, it was a surprise. I really wasn't expecting to be named MVP, but it was a lot of fun playing in Guatemala." And she has already tasted what it is like in the Team USA gym and working with the National Team coaching staff. "Meeting Karch and the rest of the coaching staff was great, and learning from Christa Dietzen was great. I also got to play with one of my Florida teammates. That was fun." #humansofvb #USAVtryout
