"And in that moment I swear we were infinite." In case you don't have facebook, here is the thank you letter I posted from this afternoon: In just a year I went from having the worst nationals of my life to having my favorite and best nationals I could have ever hoped for. My skate wasn't perfect, but it perfectly represented what can happen when you refuse to give up. It literally takes a village and I couldn't have done this without my "village people" from my sports psychologist Dr. Saul Miller to my physiotherapist Stephen Barclay (and Mark Rizzardo before him), from my personal trainer Jermaine Joan-Archer (and Jeff Cathrea before him) to my ankle surgeon Dr. Dory Boyer, also to the only person I have trusted and will ever trust to sharpen and handle my skates Brad McLean and everyone at Skater's Edge, Ted Barton and everyone at team BC/YT, everyone at GAM skates, my costume designer Nita McLaren, my coaching team Joanne McLeod, Neil Wilson, Megan Wing, and Aaron Lowe; and last but not least my incredible Mom and Dad, my brother Nick, and my amazingly supportive friends (you know who you are). Thank you to the amazing crowd in Kingston who shared this moment with me and to those who stopped me on the street to say hi, wish me luck, or to congratulate me; for making me feel so welcomed. Thank you to everyone at Skate Canada and to the countless diligent volunteers without whose efforts this event would not have been possible. I am so honored and excited to be representing Canada at the Four Continents Championships in Seoul, Korea in just a few weeks and at the World Championships in Shanghai, China in March; and quite possibly at the World Team Trophy event in Tokyo, Japan in April. A little over 6 months ago I almost walked away from this sport and now, I’m the Senior Men’s Canadian silver medalist. What the f...I mean, #Hallelujah. #CTNC2015 #FigureSkating #Silver #TeamCanada #Sports #PerksOfBeingAWallFlower
