"Representing the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club, Shotaro Omori!" The figure skating audience that surrounds every angle of the arena erupts into loud cheers! My heart is racing and my breathing seems to escape me! I've done my programs time and time again; countless times, countless hours of training. It brought me to this moment... Standing in the center of the ice with bright lights and a coliseum full of people. I tell myself that I am here to learn and grow, "just enjoy this experience!" And I DID! I am leaving the competition in 17th place. For a moment, I feel disappointed but then I realize the bigger picture... I am among the top skaters in the US! I am so proud of myself for pushing through all the years of work and to have accomplished what I have. I am so grateful for all of my friends, family, and coaches who have helped me on my journey! For me, the platform has been set and there is nowhere to go but up!
