After a recent announcement from the vice head of the Iranian anti-doping agency (Dr. Ramin Tabatabaei), Iraqi forward Alaa Abdul Zahra failed a drug test while playing for Tractor Sazi several months ago. As a result of these tests Zahra was supposed to receive a 6 month to 2 year ban from football, therefore Iraq was using an ineligible player in this tournament. AFC and FIFA are now investigating this issue and should they be found guilty, Iran will be awarded a 3-0 win and will face South Korea on Tuesday in the semi final. The team is continuing practicing in Australia until a verdict is reached. AFC is to make an announcement on this matter with in the the next 24 hours. #Iran #Iraq #AsianCup
