For everyone who has ever asked, Mazzy (rhymes with Jazzy) is not a nickname. It is her full name, a name I loved and kept to myself for fifteen years, the first name I mentioned to Mike when I got pregnant and the only name we agreed on. It also worked out nicely because the M carries over from both my Grandma Marion and Mike's Grandfather Meyer. Harlow was named after Mike's father Harold who sadly passed away when Mazzy was nine months old. Harlow looks exactly like him. Mazzy's middle name is Rose and Harlow's middle name is Eden. Both middle names are derived from Rosengarten, my maiden name. I've always liked somewhat odd names (I have one myself) and I really appreciate how many people here have said how much they like my daughters' names, especially since baby names have become a very popular thing to criticize. @BabyCenter just came out with the top 100 baby names of 2014 and I'm defending all the odd names, even the celebrity baby names, on the blog today (link in profile). #mazzyandharlow
