Yesterday, I received this extremely sad but heartfelt message from @pattimats. With her permission, I want to share this with you. "...I also wanted to thank you for your post the other day on instagram, about how our bonds are like a marriage, we are in this together, for better for worse, in sickness and health, to the very end. When I read this, it brought tears to my eyes as we had to let our heart dog, Annie, go the day after Christmas. I had prayed that she would let us know when it was time, and she did following a grand mal seizure the morning of the 26th. My husband and I knew and were crying as we took her to the vet. During the hour trip, we were in the back seat together and she climbed in to my lap to be held and to let me know that things were going to be OK. I will never forget it, nor how hard it has been to say goodbye, though it is not forever. She is with me every day, though physically she is not here, I see her everywhere, through pictures, memories, and through books like yours. You have written what is in our hearts and captured the love and life so beautifully. I am so very grateful for you, Jazzy, and Cooper." --Annie's mom

Annie was a great dog till the end. She hung on another day so that Patti and her husband could spend one more Christmas together.
