I remember this night like yesterday.
Scared, excited, nervous, focused all at the same damn time, after my performance at Sugar Hill in the A. on the way to SH, my team and I had barely missed a tree falling on top of the car I was driving in. Lightning struck and snap a huge tree had fallen in the middle of the street, 10 inches from our car. Mikael (apart of my management team) was driving and pressed on the brakes just in time to kiss the electricity hitting the wet pavement. Nate was in the back giving Puff's team directions to the venue. He and BiG were on the way to see me perform at my Metropolis Suite I: The Chase release party. "Many Moons" hadn't even been shot yet (When MySpace was just starting to pop!) We didn't know what was happening. We just trusted. We prayed. Got real real quiet and walked on that stage and WENT IN. That night will forever be a pivotal moment in my life. Oh and folks used to talk ish online about my happy nappy natural hair and I kinda cared about that for a few seconds. Glad I didn't mold and fold. ?NE wayzzzz These two guys here? I owe them so many thanks . These blk men have always respected me as a business woman, a brand, visionary, artist, black woman, and sister. No idea was ever too big to shoot for!
