Pictured here is the character 'shen' on a Christian church in Jiangxi, China. Damian explains: 'This photo captures a sense of dilapidation and partial renewal in a small village called Yantoucun in Zhejiang province, China. The bold red character – which means ‘God’ or ‘spirit’, and not necessarily the God of the Bible (but does in this context) – was outside a minute church. Under the white paint are traces of further red pigment, possibly a slogan from the Cultural Revolution, which were also traditionally written in scarlet.' #travel #lpinstatakeover
