This is the absolutely incredible work of Chris Maynard. Believe it or not, there is no photoshop or camera trickery of any kind involved here. Chris carefully cuts out shapes from the feathers of birds, which have been collected in humane ways (usually they have fallen out naturally).
He uses very sharp, and very precise knives to achieve the minuscule details. Then when his cutting is complete, he positions the feathers in a shadow box to bring them to life. His portfolio is really magnificent.
