"I mainly focus on telling a story through my images and try to make the viewer smile" says Aaron Cushley (@aaroncushley), a 23 year old illustrator based in Belfast. He always loved the blend between storytelling and illustration. We stumbled upon his drawings on Instagram and asked him to be part of our #MBInstagramFeature and this is the drawing he made for us!
@aaroncushley is currently working freelance selling prints and other apparel. He already created two picture books for his final year portfolio. "Much of my inspiration derives from reading Oliver Jeffers books and the quirky work of Gemma Correll. My work is usually created quickly and placed into the computer for touch ups and colour swatches" says @aaroncushley. "My greatest pleasure comes from seeing the work get feedback and appraisal. Social media I have found is the greatest tool at an illustrators disposal. It allows me to showcase my work and connect with other creatives and clients." The goal for me is to get a book published.
