Illustration by Ray #Eames shows a proposal for the 1949 exhibition "For Modern Living" held at the @DIADetroit and curated by #AlexanderGirard. A main feature of the Eames display was a pegged wall where an assortment of objects were hung and arranged. Charles and Ray were one group of six designers (that also included #GeorgeNelson) invited by Girard to display their designs. Nelson characterized the Eameses' exhibit as "not so much a literal presentation of a room as the expression of an attitude, conveyed through the use of a special personal vocabulary."
