RG @piercebrownofficial: A little girl at play at The Memorial to The Murdered Jews of Europe. The monument was designed by architect Peter Eisenman and engineer Buro Happold. It consists of a 4.7-acre site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs (stelae) arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field. The overall effect is claustrophobic, and leads one to feel overwhelmed and confused by a seemingly ordered and logical system. It is my second time here. The first time there were no children playing amongst the stelae, and somehow it was less moving. Today, their innocence provided a contrast to the inhumanity of the monument, their laughter echoing before being swallowed by concrete. #berlin #germany @germanyinusa #regramapp
