It had such an impact on me that it’s not only my favorite Guy Mariano part, but my favorite video part of all time. It even made me listen to the Jackson Five. The way Guy skated and looked in that video, doing lines and what he was doing in the way he looked on a board, made me want to skate like him. I met Guy and Rudy Johnson at a contest in Phoenix, and I got both of their numbers and literally called them every night for the next two years. I eventually moved in with Guy after dropping out of high school, moving to California on my own at the age of 16. Our lives back then were all about skateboarding and friendship, and there's not one single moment that stands out—that era was some of the best times of my life. Guy is such a cool dude and fun to be around, but more than that, skating with him is so motivating and inspiring and you quickly see yourself getting better. Guy Mariano is my favorite skater and always will be"
