Issue XII #FlowMagazine 2003. #AI and myself in a 007 themed #BattleRoyale going into Pipe. Andy made it very clear that he hated my white wetsuits at the time, thus the B&W suits In the illustration. He won the #PipeMasters and also the #WorldTitle over me by a single heat. So close yet so far. #Winning contests reaffirms the work you put in but #Losing teaches you more about yourself and your life than winning ever could. That was a tough one for me personally and professionally but looking back I'd have it no other way. Andy went on to win his third world title the following year before I could narrowly catch him in 2005, also by a single heat win on my side. #ThoseWereTheDays #BlackAndWhite
