For 3 days only, #ZEROnetwork artist Otto Piene's "White Balloon" will hang in the Guggenheim rotunda on the occasion of the 2014 Guggenheim International Gala. The balloon, designed by Piene before he passed away this summer at the age of 86, has a diameter of 16 feet and serves as a screen for digital copies of hand-painted slides that reinterpret Piene’s 1966-67 series, “Proliferation of the Sun.” Our #GIG2014 Pre-party begins tomorrow night with a sold out musical performance by @the_xx_.
