Dear daddy,
we lost you three years ago today: October 18 2011, and it has not gotten easier, like I thought it would. I miss you more and more everyday, literally. No one told me it would work that way. I had been led to believe that time healed. I wish I had done so much more with you. I wish I had asked you so many more questions. I wish you could see what I'm up to now, and I wish I could have heard you say that you were proud of me. I sometimes try to remember what your voice sounds like and imagine you saying that I'm doing a good job. You taught me so much, and everything I am today is because of what you taught me and the incredible love that you showed me. You were the most wonderful man I'll ever know.
