Working in studio with simple lighting on a plain white cyc is one of my favorite ways to shoot. It puts the focus on the subject and there's no fancy lighting or exotic background to rely on, it's all up to you and the subject. The best portraits in my opinion depend on authenticity and being in the moment. In this instance I had my subject breakdance for pretty much the whole shoot and at the end when he was pumped but exhausted he just stood there and stared me down. As much as I loved his fancy foot work, I feel the intensity of his gaze tells a more mysterious story #narrative #phototips
