Southern #Peru #2 #ThrophyHead The second of 10 that I shot for @ナショナルジオグラフィック for a story on the Nazca region. This skull may have been used as part of fertility rituals connected to droughts. It was not uncommon for the heads to be worn as an adornment by it's owner. The Nazca Culture in southern Peru ruled from 400 to 650 CE (Common Era).
