I AM SITTING AT CAFÉ GRATITUDE IN LOS ANGELES RIGHT NOW- loving and enjoying the beauty of vegetables and what they need to the human body. This postcard was just given to me in hopes that I could relay a very important message to everyone- PLEASE READ THIS! I AM SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS AND FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH YOU SHOUD BE TOO-PROMISE. LET'S DO THIS IN EVERY TOWN IN EVERY CITY AND EVERY STATE IN OUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY! No more GMO foods that are killing us!!! Here is the info:
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are scary stuff. Studies in Eurooe link these "frankenfoods" to serious health problems like tumors and cancer. More than 26 countries ban GMOs, but the corporate powers are making this very difficult to achieve this in the U.S. Here in Los Angeles, a motion is before City Council to prevent GMO seeds and plants from being grown in the City. This is a parallel motion to "labeling" initiatives, and it's necessary because in order to have clean food to label, we have to have clear areas in which to safely grow that clean food.
A GMO-free zone in Los Angeles would create 502.7 square miles where GMO seeds and plants could not be grown or sold. It would create a space where heirloom vegetable seeds could safely be cultivated and saved, thus securing a healthy food supply for future generations. Local producers, urban agriculture, and the organic food movement would thrive. PLEASE SUPPORT THE GMO-FREE ZONE! THIS SO IMPORTANT!!!!
