While Carrie and I were promoting season 1 of Portlandia, we ended up sharing a dressing room with Joan Rivers, who was promoting her show. We didn't know yet if we were picked up for season 2, but for some reason, Joan did! I don't know how that happened, but she was the one who actually broke the good news to me. I took that as a good sign. What an incredible artist. Prolific beyond belief. That documentary about her is really great. I admired her work ethic so much, and loved watching her perform. #joanrivers #portlandia @carrie_rachel
