I've seen a lot of the Ice Bucket Challenge posts recently, but the vast majority don't talk about what it really is. First off, @Speedenthusiasts called me out earlier today! I'm not sure if this applies because I haven't done the ice part yet, but I want to call out @AmericanMuscleHD, @ModernDayHotrods, and @HotRodsAndMuscleCars!
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease or ASL, it a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. It happens when the motor neurons degenrate and eventually you cannot use your motor functions. It eventually leads to death. It's a terrible disease and the #IceBucketChallenge is helping grow the awareness for this disease. I just wanted to make sure you all knew what this was! I decided to donate $100 instead of doing the ice bucket thing like most do.
