Editorial correction: The above post is from last Sunday after the #GlobalRallycross race here in NY. I oversimplified Scott Speed’s situation in that post. Scott and his team violated a GRC rule and the penalty for that, unfortunately, comes down mostly upon the driver despite it being the responsibility of the entire team. The heavy penalty resulted in Scott being stripped of his 2nd place finish and losing valuable championship points. That sucks for him, but in these types of situations the driver is the face of the team and is the one who gets the short end of the stick. So, I apologize for oversimplifying the situation and simply stating that Scott cheated.
