#tbt Always love finding little gems in the archives. This unpublished astral shot of Shivling in the Garwhal Himalaya is a lucky shot I never expected to turn out. The image was the last frame I took on the mountain during a 12 day climb of the Sharks Fin on Mount Meru w @コンラッド・アンカー and @renan_ozturk. We had barely pulled off the first ascent of the route and were in the midst of a harrowing multi day descent off the peak. A bit past midnight after almost two days of rappelling, I propped the camera up on a small rock ledge using pebbles as shims to try and get an even horizon line. Conrad and Renan waited patiently while I took the long exposure. Despite being battered and exhausted, it was a moment for all of us to take in the incredible place we were in. Just the cold, the mountains, the stars and us. We still had an entire night of descending left to do, but strangely, life felt simple and straightforward. Keep an eye on your partners. Build solid anchors. Double check your systems…..and don't rappel off the end of the ropes. #Merufilm
