Happy Father's Day to my old man, @jamesfgunn. When I was a kid of eleven years old I was withdrawn and odd. I just wanted to spend all day alone in my room writing and drawing and listening to the radio. My dad, in an attempt to bring me out of my shell, took an interest in my interest - Marvel comic books. He found a guy who was selling his comic book collection, which was enormous, and he bought the whole thing for me. He asked me questions about the characters and even read a few. My dad then took me to the Creation Comic Book Convention in Chicago, just the two of us, which is still one of the greatest weekends of my life. Thanks for taking an interest, Dad. It may not seemed to have taken hold at first, as I went on to become a pretty horrible juvenile delinquent. But somewhere under it all I felt your love, and it's that love that fuels everything I do. And probably has something to do with my continual love of comic books and superheroes and stories. Love you, Dad.
