Went to visit my old pal Buddy Catlett yesterday while here in Seattle. This man and I started on the same exact day! We played together in Charlie Taylor's band, Bumps Blackwell's band and he even joined my "Free & Easy" tour. When I got to his room yesterday, he had a CD in the deck that was a live recording we had done together at the Alhambra in 1960. First song had a trumpet solo from none other than Clark Terry. What memories!
