"I felt it coming. I could sense its presence, its weight. Impending, like a brewing storm just over the horizon that has made itself known in the form of a preemptive feeling in your gut. I had tried to ignore its imminence. I tried to play the part of a woman I wished I could be but, alas, the thought, the ponderous thought of the always approaching but never visible inevitable, it was ever present in the back of my dog brain. The bath was coming and then it had come. It knows no friends, it knows no enemies.It does not discern nor judge. It's blind to justice, mercy and revenge. It just is.
