Evening #London. The Queen's House, Greenwich, is a former royal residence built between 1616–1619 and captured here by @mr_jka. The Tulip Stairs and lantern, shot from below; is the first centrally unsupported helical stairs constructed in England. The stairs are supported by a combination of support by cantilever from the walls and each tread resting on the one below. The Queen's House is one of the most important buildings in British architectural history, being the first consciously classical building to have been constructed in Britain. And whilst it might not be obvious or first on your list to visit, it is a glorious site to behold and we thoroughly recommend a visit.
