As I leave for my European tour today, I had to say goodbye to my dog Kaeri. She was a sweet, loving, and loyal dog whose health deteriorated over the past few months due to various conditions related to her age. I only had her as an old dog, but she was better than any puppy. It breaks my heart that I had to say bye, but at least I was with her at her last moments. Our pets teach us so much about mortality--everything that lives must die, ourselves included. I hope she's at peace now and is getting all the ear scratches she could ever want. I love you my puppy.
