Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I tell you our tuxedo trio is no longer a trio. We had to say goodbye to our beloved Desmond yesterday. I found him in the bathroom panting and struggling to breathe. I rushed him to the vet, where they put him on oxygen and did an ultrasound. They found he had a large amount of fluid around his lungs. They removed as much as they could, but he was still struggling to breathe and we could tell he was suffering. The vet said that he likely had a heart defect or heart disease that was making his heart work overtime and causing fluid to back up. He would have spent the rest of his life chronically ill and in pain. We had to say goodbye to our sweet little guy. It was so unexpected and completely out of the blue. We already miss him so much and just can't believe he is gone. Hug your fur babies a little closer today, for you never know how much longer you may have with them. RIP, Desmond. See you in another life, brothah. ???
