Those who are genuinely happy wouldn't be hateful, and those who are hateful couldn't be genuinely happy. There will always be people who will have something bad to say about others, but there are also people who understand what life is about because they know what it's like to live, learn, love, lose and let go. Life is too short for you to not experience it with an open mind and heart. The world is so vast and full of diversity. It would be ignorant to expect every person to be the same as the next; to limit your understanding and confine yourself within a box, just because it's what's familiar to you.. I've come to realize that no one is better than anyone. We all have different characters, different stories, different ways of living. And it's completely okay. We are all imperfect, we all fall short, and we all have our own downfalls. But be comforted in the fact that no one is required to live by the standards of any other man. The only One we live to please is God, and even He reminds us everyday that no one was made to be perfect. :) Don't allow others to put you down. But more importantly, don't ever allow yourself to put others down. Don't live in arrogance, misjudgment, hypocrisy and false innocence. Instead, find the humility to accept that the world doesn't revolve around you. Nobody exists to please you and live by your standards, too. There will always be something about you that others will perceive as "wrong". But you can't really call yourself a victim if you have victimized others as well. As the saying goes, "Treat people the way you wish to be treated." Always remember that, in your own way, you're just as beautifully flawed as everyone else. :)
