Zongoloni's story of survival is quite incredible. Six months ago, this young orphaned elephant was found bravely protecting his dying mothe after she was attacked by poachers in the Taita-Taveta County.

Zongoloni was becoming increasingly weak due to his mother's condition and it was vital the DSWT team stepped in to rescue him.

After a traumatic start, we are pleased to see Zongoloni thriving in our care. Thanks to such incredible support and foster parents around the world, our dedicated team of Keepers have afforded Zongoloni a second chance at life.
