I have really loved taking these as I have an age old love of the telephone kiosks designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. This particular one is a K2, and was designed in a neo classical style with a Soanian dome, in the 1920's for a competition for architects, to design a small building to house these 'new' public telephones. These K2's, unlike the slimline K6's, are all listed buildings. Sir Giles Gilbert Scott also designed Battersea Power Station and the Tate Modern and his father ( Sir Gilbert Scott ) designed the St Pancras building...which still has a telephone box standing proudly outside. I've been taking photographs/portraits of telephone boxes since 1992 and they never cease to awe me...❤️
