Yesterday I posted about how disgusted I am by what's happening to LGBT citizens in Russia. Today I am equally appalled by the anti-gay bill that just passed in Arizona's House of Representatives. The bigoted legislation allows business owners with strong religious beliefs opposing homosexuality to refuse service to LGBT people.
I whole heartedly believe everyone should have the right to believe in whatever they want, but no one has the right to impose those beliefs against others through the law. Throughout history, even not so long ago, religion was used to justify slavery, criminalize interracial marriage, and promote gender inequality. Society has come too far to allow such a close-minded, prejudiced law take affect.

The bill, which the state's House of Representatives passed in a 33-27 vote last Thursday, will now go to Republican Governor Jan Brewer. She has five days to reject it or sign it into law.
