אריק, איש נדיר היית. הפכת דברים שנראו כבלתי אפשריים למנופים של אפשרויות אדירות. תמיד הדפת סכנות ומעולם לא דחית הכרעות, החלטת וגם ניצחת.
תדע מנוחה, מנהיג גדול- שלא הרשה מנוח לעצמו בשירות עמו, בהגנת ארצו ובהפרחת שדותיה. האדמה שממנה באת תחבק אותך עתה בזרועותיה הגדולות והחמות של ההיסטוריה של עמינו. היא תקבל אותך כאיש שהוסיף לה פרק היסטורי בלתי נשכח.
וכדברי המשורר:" ואומה תעמוד - קרועת לב אך נושמת לקבל את הנס, האחד, אין שני... " תחסר לנו אריק, יהי זכרך ברוך.

Arik, You were unique. You turned the seemingly impossible into endless opportunity. You fought off dangers and never delayed decisions. You decided and you were victorious.
May you rest in peace, a great leader. You never rested when in service of your people, when defending your land and when making it flourish. The land from which you came will embrace you in the warm arms of the history of our nation to which you added an unforgettable chapter.
